Lindasue Flores
After the Earthquake by Lindasue Flores
The Bennet family has decided to become refugees rather than comply with the new
political takeover of the United States. Adam thinks they should just go along with the
new government until the United States has been restored, and that is one of many
disagreements he has with his father. When Adam has finally decided he will at least
partially comply with the family’s decision to take refuge in the mountains of the Olympic
Peninsula, a major earthquake hits and separates the parents from Adam and his
brother and sister. They don’t know where their parents are, and they are not even sure
they are alive. Adam has to find a way to stay alive with their limited resources, and get
along with his younger brother and sister.
